My hiatus took much longer than expected. One thing led to another in a transition that tested the boundaries of Murphy’s Law. It’s all given me plenty of time to consider changes I want to make to My Food Friend. I’ll be rolling out changes to the layout and format over the next few weeks. I was trying to do it all at once – have a grand unveiling – but that kept delaying my getting back into the swing, and I don’t want to wait any longer.
The focus of the new format revolves around three watchwords: educate, engage, empower. I don’t just want to bring you information I want to empower you by making it easy to take small steps to improve -the quality of food in your life – and thereby improve the quality of your life.
I’ll still research the sources and bring you the best information I can, but more of it will be straight from the horse’s mouth. This means more interviews and guest blogs.
I’ll still keep you informed on my activist activities and progress with my garden. In fact I’m in a new spot and am starting from scratch this year. I might even include a few book reviews. The sky is the limit really with the new format.
Food has, unfortunately, gotten pretty scary over the years. People don’t know what to eat any more. There is so much stress and guilt and fear around every bite. Besides being unhealthful, eating with all the negative emotions is really no fun at all.
I don’t believe it has to be that way. I believe with the right information we can “get ourselves back to the garden” so to speak. I believe things really are pretty straightforward once we get back to basics. Ah but the basics have become dangerous due to genetic meddling; which brings me back to my roots here at My Food Friend. It’s time we take back our food supply, and together we can; one small step at a time.
